Assembly
Together with the Horizon EX-59 there are all tools needed to put the machine together, so you will not need anything additional. According to most of the users, the assembly is really easy: "I put it together mostly by myself and I'm a 21yr old female with average strength and it wasn't too hard. Most of the pieces are together already, the pieces that need greasing were already greased. It comes with the tools you need to put it together, and the hardware is separated into what you need for each step, so there's no digging around looking for the right part."
Weight & Size
The EX-59 Elliptical Trainer is large and heavy, so you have to keep this in mind before you set it up: "This machine is very heavy, we used a pair of furniture dollys to move it. It is long, so if you have to move it after assembly, measure to make sure you you can get it there. We assembled it half-way, then moved it to the room where it will be used, then completed assembly."
Performance Compared to other elliptical trainers, this works smoother and makes you feel a more realistic action. Thanks to the cooling fan, you will not feel exhausted as quick as using trainers without fan: "I am an active exerciser (walking/exercise DVD's), but I wanted something I could put in front of my television and this fits the bill. And after 30 minutes I am exhausted and feel great, so this is doing the job (cardio)."
One of our questioned people had problems with back and knees: "I'm woefully out of shape; that's why I bought this Horizon elliptical trainer in the first place. I've had three back surgeries, and I have bad knees. So I've been using level one and have only been doing 10 minutes at a time, twice a day. But I still feel like I'm getting quite a workout."
